10. Unpacking the Car after driving 2+ hours
9. Laundry
8. Finding the week old garbage in a hot house (Yuck!).
7. Dead pets (oops)!
6. No food in the house.
5. Laundry (yeah, I know. I hate it twice.)
4. 600 spam emails in my inbox.
3. Catching up on all the work that didn't get done while I was gone.
2. Finding all my bills in one, big pile.
1. Waiting another year to take a vacation!
Thankfully, I didn't have all of these on this year's return home. I had a nice relaxing - a little boring - vacation. It's still weird taking a whole week off. Maybe someday I'll do something more exciting (and maybe have a bit more money!). All in all it was fun and I got some writing done. I'm ready for the Fall now! Hope you got to get away sometime this summer!

How Do You Gauge Success?
So how do you gauge success? We had our first Singles Ministry gathering tonight and if it was based only on numbers you might say....well, it was a weak start. But if you only ponder what God can do with a handle full of single Christians looking to be used to reach out to others....well, I'd say that makes for a pretty full house!
I'm excited to see what God has planned for us in this new ministry. [Open lid, let God out of the box we keep him in] The impact is limitless. Thankfully, his success is not dependent on what I do...only if I'm willing to be used, and then I get to be a part. So, keep us in your prayers as we impact a city of singles for the Lord!
I hope single Christians have a place in your church, because so often it feels like church is a couples only kind of place. If not...come on over! If so, then maybe we can all hook up and have party!
Remember, just 'cause your single doesn't mean your life is on pause! Live it up!

Bye-bye Summer
Well, I guess summer is really over. School's back in session for most, summer programs are done and it's almost time to swing back into the fall routines! Only thing left for me is some vacation. I'm still not used to working through the summer and vacationing when it's over. But I'm ready.
Yep, I'm leaving for a week. What will I ever do for an entire week? With my party animal life-style ..... I'll probably end up walking through Walmart late one night in another town. No I'll probably be driving around trying to find a WIFI for my laptop!
Seriously, I'm ready for a new school year. I've got some exciting new things coming up at church and more opportunities to meet new folks. Also going to some more magic classes and in January I may take my first airplane ride! Yeah, I know...I'm like the only person who hasn't flown!
Well, I guess I've rambled enough to count for a blog entry....check back later and when things are a little more exciting! Hope your Fall is a great one (and maybe a cooler one if you live in Texas!).
